Connecting Dance Studios to a Global Mission

Redemptive Dance Ministries Launches EmpowerDance Collective to Connect Dance
Studios with Underserved Communities Across the Globe

Littleton, Colo. — Redemptive Dance Ministries is proud to announce the launch of its
newest division, EmpowerDance Collective (EDC) — a groundbreaking initiative designed
to connect professional dance artists and dance studios in the U.S. with underserved
dance communities around the world through cultural exchange, mutual learning, and
philanthropy — current opportunities in Kenya and Zimbabwe.
The EmpowerDance Collective serves as a bridge between for-profit dance studios,
professional artists and global outreach, providing a practical, hands-on way to give back
and create lasting, life-changing experiences for dancers. Through partnership, ance
studios engage in monthly cultural updates, video and choreography exchanges, and
meaningful peer-to-peer relationships with dancers abroad. One of the highlights of the
program is the opportunity for partner studios to travel to Nairobi, Kenya, for an
international dance convention — dancing side-by-side with the very communities they’ve
supported.

“The EmpowerDance Collective is about more than giving — it’s about cross-cultural
relationship, unity, and a shared love for dance that transcends borders,” said Heather
Johnson, Founder and CEO of Redemptive Dance Ministries. “This initiative allows studios
to offer their dancers something truly unique: the chance to see how their passion for
dance can make a global impact and open their hearts to cultures they may have never
encountered otherwise.”

Although Redemptive Dance Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit, the EmpowerDance
Collective is designed to be accessible and respectful to secular, for-profit studios, offering
a values-based partnership model without religious language or requirements. This
approach creates a welcoming environment where studios of all backgrounds can
contribute to meaningful change.

Studios that participate in the program gain access to:

  • Monthly updates and cultural education on their partner community
  • Video and choreography exchanges with dancers abroad
  • Pen pal and video pal relationships
  • Optional travel to Nairobi, Kenya, for a dance convention and cultural exchange
    experience

The program also supports RDM’s ongoing work on the ground, including youth
development, leadership training, and dance education for vulnerable and underserved
populations.

A Call to Individual Contributors: Dancers, Choreographers, and Teaching Artists
In addition to studio partnerships, the EmpowerDance Collective is actively inviting
individual contributors — including professional dancers, choreographers, educators, and
creatives — to become part of this global movement.
Opportunities for individual involvement include:

  • Donating video classes or choreography for use in our partner programs in Kenya
    and Zimbabwe.
  • Contributing to EDC’s educational resource library, including warm-ups,
technique breakdowns, progressions across the floor, cultural dance history, or
    creative process materials.
  • Serving as a guest instructor abroad, teaching at one of our international chapters
during short-term missions events, exchange trips, or dance intensives.

Whether you’re a freelance artist, a member of a dance company, or a teaching
professional, your voice and expertise can make a lasting difference in the lives of young
dancers who are hungry for opportunity and eager to grow.
