A Moment of Courage
Meeting Jesus changes everything. For many young people, Redemptive Dance Ministries is where that change begins—with a single, Spirit-led moment of courage.
“Meeting Jesus changes everything”, and another truth is that we all have our moment of courage…a moment when everything begins to make sense and Redemptive Dance Ministries has been that moment of courage for many young people including me. On the 7th of June, we set out to Sakubva Presbyterian Church for our first ever “winter dance festival”. This was a competition amongst all the three chapters we have in Zimbabwe. More than the essence of winning, it was the joy of witnessing children from different walks of life, coming together as one army of worshippers all eager to dance for Jesus. It lies in the truth that, dance became one language, a conformity of the love that Christ showed in dying for us…yet in the complexity of the competition, children managed to showcase not just their dance styles but also the love they inhabit for this Ministry. After such a tight competition, Dangamvura chapter emerged victorious with the Sakubva chapter tagging second while the Kuda Vana Chapter came in third. For these children, the dance festival was more than just the trophies and medals but it was all about the passion they have for dance and how it is transforming their lives. In the three years that l have worked at the Kuda Vana chapter, my life has taken a turn for the better. Knowing that l have allowed God to work through me, in making a difference even in the most subtle way makes my life better in ways that l can’t express. RDM, is more than just the dance, for us it is the heart of worship, our moment of courage, to know that we can use dance to glorify God is the most amazing thing and l hope one day everyone in Zimbabwe can get to experience their moment of courage through RDM as well.
